Being a utility company Roskilde Forsyning A/S supplies 82.000 private and professional customers with drinking water and district heating as well as the discharge and treatment of waste water.
Product and Services
Roskilde Forsyning is involved in the supply, discharge,
maintenance, counselling, development and innovation of fresh
drinking water, district heating and waste water.
More specifically this includes:
- Supply of drinking water and district heating
- Discharge and treatment of waste water
- Operation and maintenance of plants and pipelines
- Project management and planning
- Energy counselling
- Protection of original energy sources
- Documentation of the safety of drinking water
Vision and Values
The vision of Roskilde Forsyning is to match the future market
competition and contribute to sustainable development at all times.
Sustainable production and conservation of resources are achieved
through an efficient, innovative usage and supply of drinking water
and district heating as well as an efficient treatment of waste
water.
Roskilde Forsyning has three defined values:

Employees - and working at Roskilde Forsyning
Roskilde Forsyning has 106 employees. The continuous
professional development of the employees is of primary concern to
the organisation as our employees are a very valuable asset in
delivering the know-how and competences required to maintain our
position as a professional, responsible and innovative supply
company.
Each year Roskilde Forsyning produces an intellectual capital
report that gives evidence to the high level of post-education and
competence development offered to our employees.
Customers
The customers of Roskilde Forsyning include individuals with own
housing as well as commercial companies.
Geographically Roskilde Forsyning covers a large area of 212
km2 including greater Roskilde and neighbouring
counties.
Ownership
Roskilde Forsyning is owned by Roskilde Kommune (municipality of
Roskilde). As of 1 January 2010 a new legislation for drinking
water supply companies made it statutory for all such companies to
become private limited companies. The company structure, the
organisation and accounting principles of Roskilde Forsyning now
live up to the requirements of a privately-held company.

Environment and climate
Protecting the environment is of major concern for Roskilde
Forsyning. In all aspects the company focuses on contributing
actively to protecting and securing the environment in order not to
further contribute to the adversity of climate change.
The three areas of focus are:
- Adapting to the consequences of climate changes
- Reducing CO2 emissions
- Contributing to a climate-friendly development and
innovation
The development of rain water reservoirs is an example of how
Roskilde Forsyning works with dedication to generate new ideas for
future, more climate-friendly behaviour. Roskilde Forsyning has
also prepared a new strategy for heat and energy supply for the
municipality concerning reduction of CO2 emission.
The efforts of Roskilde Forsyning are communicated through an
ambitious environmental report annually. This report informs the
public (customers, the media and the political scene) about the
continuous development of high-scale environmental and climate
initiatives.
